Personal Statement
As a perfectionist, my extra-curricular activities display traits ideal for university life and the professional world. I am responsible for organising events as the acting founder of the college's investment club. Hosting talks with local executives has developed my public speaking, and roles as student panellist and head boy of studies have given me a foundation for becoming a leader amongst a group of competitive students.
I have excelled as a multisport athlete, receiving the 2020 KJAR athlete of the year and captaining the team to the National Cup. I am a Cambridgeshire FA Referee and have quickly established myself as a highly respected referee amongst my local community, helping me gain the ability to stand strong in the face of adversity.
Building on an inbuilt competitiveness, I wish to continue my academic trajectory and sporting development as a thriving multi-sport athlete. I aspire to achieve beyond what seems possible, creating a legacy for a prestigious institution and my family name which I carry proudly. I hope to excel in Soccer and all sporting ventures I indulge in, displaying a relentless attitude to all games and training sessions I am blessed to be apart. Captaincy in 4-sports at schools with extremely competitive sporting history show traits of leadership, and my technique ability and knowledge that I can apply to the game will most definitely benefit my fellow teammates to collective bring them on as players also.
Over the summer, I have been working in a multicultural society and southern Asian cuisine as customer service manager. I plan to travel south-east Asia with the company, experiencing the affluence of Gulshan and poverty of Dhaka. Such interests have compelled me to seek an understanding of forces that drive economic inequality, and the lack of sufficient nutrition for children going through hardship; stimulating the creation of my online fundraising foundation, FDH, currently providing over 10,000 hot meals for Bangor school children.
Maintaining high grades is key to success and discipline show in the pitch, and college life would enhance my aspirational characteristics across all features of a student-athlete's journey.
