Personal Statement
My name is Adrian Manchado Cano, I am college freshman and part of the class of 2026 at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from the CCAC Conference of NAIA. I am originally from Madrid, Spain. The information about the highschool is not correct, my Spanish highschool was not on the list, and the stats about it are the last season at Cardinal Stritch University already in college
I am 5’ 8’’ and I play right back and right wing-back. This season as a freshman I have started every one of the 21 games that we have played, and I have scored 1 goal and given 5 assists. We made nationals, being knocked out by the 11th team of the NAIA. Being the second player with the most minutes in the team, I was awarded the Player of the Year of my team. Back in Spain, I played a high level of soccer, playing the last two years in an academy of Atletico de Madrid, Atlético Casarrubuelos. Last season, I started all the matches, scored 1 goal, and gave 10 assists, which made me start this dream towards the USA.
I am an offensive right-back that loves joining the attack to assist or score. I put good crosses into the box and I can give the final pass easily. However, I understand that the main purpose of a right back is defending and I choose the right moments to attack. My defensive qualities are anticipation or the 1v1 defense. I do whatever the team needs to achieve the target, the win.
Academics are really important to me. Although my goal is to become a soccer professional, I know that studies are the main focus. I have an SAT score of 1400 (600E + 800M), an IELTS score of 7.0, and a GPA of 4.0 out of 4 this semester of college studying Math and Computer Science.
I feel that I need a transfer to a top academic and soccer school, to keep growing, and become a better player, student, and person. If you give me a chance you will never regret it, for me this is the opportunity of my life and I will do everything to make it worth it. Being in the USA in college is a dream for me and I am here to do something big
