Personal Statement
I really love soccer my uncles are soccer players too and they support me in playing the sport and I think that it has taught me valuable lessons about life, no.1 To keep going even when the road taken feels long. no.2 Don’t listen to those who say you can’t do it, no.3 hard work and talent both go together. I promise my self every single day that I will live with those three concepts and I will make it big as a Tanzania’s no.1 goalkeeper and hopefully play for a big team in the MLS or the Premier league like Allison Becker Liverpool’s number one goalkeeper.
Football has also taught me to cooperate with people with different abilities, my leadership skills have improved ever since I started playing football because as a goalkeeper, I command the team and communicate with the infield players during the game.
Ever since I started to play soccer in small teams in Mwanza, I realized that some of the young people do not have the motivation to play the sport, I have high hopes of changing that through hard work and my dreams and visions of playing college soccer and making it into major leagues.
I for my own part feel good when I put in a 100% in tasks and later on come to feel good when told it is done correctly. failure, to my mind, is not an option because as I see it failure is like a obstacle put in front of you to see weather you will stay were you are or find other means in which you can push forwards.
As the oldest son In an African house, there a lot of expectations from my parents and also a lot responsibility which I have to cover. One of the biggest responsibilities I have to carry is looking after my siblings and making sure that I’m a great example for them.in my family education is number one priority then the rest will follow. My mother expects me to study hard and make her happy by doing so,
she also wants me to make friends with people who will encourage me to pursue my dreams and live a healthy life. My father doesn’t want much from me he just wants me to make the most out of my education and for me to be successful. My parents have gone through a lot to get me to the stage at which I am in, to take me to places I have never been to around the world and also to support me in football, music and drama plays things in which the culture I come from would find weird. Personally, I think that the expectations that they have put for me are some that I can live up to. When I was three, I got moved to different schools in Mwanza the reason for that is cause my father thought that every school he had sent is not the ones in which he wants me to grow up in. when I turned four, he moved me to Isamilo where I studied for 12 years. During my time at Isamilo, I enjoyed the school trips because I loved seeing new places, I enjoyed the PE lessons because I loved to be active and partly because the teachers were very encouraging, I also loved participating in the Drama plays that went on in school as I saw them as a way of expressing myself.
