Personal Statement

In the present, I am a junior at St. Michael's School in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. I have an interesting background; I was born in Venezuela and when I was still a baby, I moved to Mexico with my family. There I learned how to play, enjoy and love soccer.

Being 8 years old, I embraced this magical sport and worked hard to make my school's team. By the time I was 11 I was a starter, and at 13 years old I became the top goal-scorer of my team. I wanted to challenge myself, so I made my way to Herradura CF, my first club. Throughout the year I worked hard and soon became a starter for the club too.

Two years ago my father was transferred to the Dominican Republic. The first thing I did was to enroll in my school's team, I started playing and quickly won my coach's trust and the respect of my teammates, soon I was a starter. At the same time, I played 6 months in the U-17 professional league in the DR with Bauger FC, and then moved on to FCB Escola Santo Domingo, which is considered the best youth team in the country. Currently, I am a starter for SMS High School and have an important role in FCB Escola.

I devoted my last four summers also to soccer. In 2015, I assisted the FC Dallas Camp for two weeks, in 2016 I attended the Nike Soccer Camp in Miami and the UFL Soccer Camp in Orlando.  In the summer of 2017,  I took part in Fundación Marcet, a high-performance soccer foundation in Barcelona. Finally, this summer I repeated my experience in FC Dallas because I really liked the high demanding training required by coaches. Finishing the camp I was ranked as the 3rd highest overall player in the FC Dallas Elite Camp.

It is important to mention to complete my athletic background I am a red belt in Tae Kwon Do, sport in which I competed for a few years and reached the Junior National Tournament.

I am a dedicated student. I always put my mind and heart into my work. My current GPA stands on 3.8, and I hope to improve.

I would like to major in cinematography. This is a career in which I can capitalize on and show my creativity and vision, just as I do on the soccer field.
