Personal Statement
Loving the game for as long as I can remember, soccer has been the common denominator to everything I do. No matter the scenario, regardless of the ups and downs of life, soccer has always accompanied me throughout my journey in life. With this company comes lessons: lessons that orientate my aspirations and fixate my skills.
I want to play collegiate soccer at an institution that is academically rigorous. Juggling the balls of school, life and of course, soccer, I am no stranger to what it means to be busy. With this movement comes challenge. And with challenge follows drive. I challenge myself to be the best that I can be, in everything that I do. On the field, this means every shot, every dive, every kick done with conviction and purpose.
So what makes me unique as a goalkeeper? Having played centre-midfielder for three years, my technical ability and situational awareness are second to none in a keeper. Having the ability to play with both my feet and evaluate the field in all circumstances, I will ensure your team has a confident and reliable distributor of the ball. Any long balls past the back line, any crosses in the box, any shots from any distance, my technical ability with both my hands and feet ensures that I come and collect. Speaking from experience, being a goalkeeper requires a lot of confidence - and it is through my ability to be confident in both myself and my teammates that I lead. Every shot, every dive, every kick done with conviction and purpose, you will not find a goalkeeper more motivated and dedicated than I am.
Throughout my high school career, I have involved myself in any and all opportunities to excel in my game. Being a part of my school's varsity team for three consecutive years while managing club soccer like my role in Stoke City's academy here in Shanghai, I am fully committed to playing at the highest level. My history in the game is not only limited to high school, however. Having had the opportunity to be guided by numerous world class coaches - including former Bermuda national team's goalkeeping coach John Moreira and England international Carlton Palmer - my technical skillset and deep experience in goal puts me in a position of contribution to any team.
Never shying away from challenge in the face of failure and never overtaken by complacency in the face of success, I am a person that strives for progress in every little detail. And it is through this drive for progress that I achieve both on and off the field but more importantly, as an individual of good character.
