Personal Statement
Hi Coach,
My name is Folajimi Kazum and I am a 17 yr old living currently in Queensland, Australia. My 12 years playing soccer competitively has allowed me to grasp the needs and wants of the game, change my style of play and perspective after playing in almost every position on the field, as well as my physical and mental state. I am a fast, direct and effective player who, as you will be able to see from my video, can play multiple positions because of my technical ability with the ball at my feet, my footballing brain, my physical prowess and my drive to win the ball back as soon as it is lost. The 2021 GPS Championships would have to be the highlight of my career so far because after all the work I had done the previous season, I was finally able to secure a starting spot in a team full of players playing for professional A-League clubs. I came away from my season in what is the equivalent if a "varsity" team as the top assister and with a lot more experience playing multiple different positions. I know I have what it takes because I push through and strive to be the best at all times, always looking for ways to improve. In relation to school, being my other priority, I have received Deans List, Cum Laude and Silver palm awards, adding to the culture of my school by being part of multiple leadership teams and clubs such as investing and debating. I train 4 times a week in the morning with the First XI team, as well as another 3 times in the afternoon with my club team, Gold Coast United, added to gym sessions i do privately to improve the strength and conditioning part of my game. I now attended The Southport school as a boarder from Townsville during the 11th grade for the opportunity to develop further into a player that would be vital in your team, and most importantly, into the player and person I want to be. I decide to do what is best for the team and can always add something when needed. A business degree in finance and accounting would be the path I would like to go down in regards to my educational life and having gone to boarding school for my 11th grade, adjusting to college life will be easier as a whole. I look forward to showing you what I have to offer.
Kind regards,
Folajimi Kazum
