Filip Barnekow Olsson '22 Recruiting Profile

I am an 18 year old goalkeeper with experience in the senior divisions of Sweden playing for Norrtulls SK. As a back up in Division 4 Mellersta we got relegated but as a starter in 2022 we currently sit first in Division 5 Mellersta. I have been training with this senior team for three years which has made me greatly develop my skills in not only the goalkeeping basics but with my leadership and communication skills. I have also had to get used to a style of game which is very physical compared to the junior leagues.  Growing up in the UK, the US and Sweden football has always been a huge part of my life and my family's life and I wish to continue football at a college level. alongside football, I have played many sports growing up moist noticeably basketball and tennis which I quit two years ago to focus on football but has helped me develop as an athlete. I also enjoy running including running a half marathon at 1 hour 55 minutes in 2021 which was the first time ever running at that distance.

I have a very strong academic background with hopes to continue to focus heavily on school at the same time as sports during college with interest in studying chemical engineering or something similar on either the chemistry or engineering side.
