Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Liam Terry and I have just turned 21 years old and am currently living in Stockholm, Sweden.
I am an extremely driven individual who prides myself in always pushing myself to my limit whether that be academically or athletically, and always try my hardest to make the people around me do the same. I commend myself on having a professional mindset on and off the field.
Ever since a young age I have played soccer at a very high level, at ages 12-17 I played for one of the biggest Swedish clubs Djurgården IF, playing competitively in their academy as well as their 2nd team. During that time I attended Stockholm International School. At 17 I moved to Australia with my family to finish high school and to gain a different life experience. I kept playing at a high level in Sydney where I played for Narrabeen FC, a club who competes in the MWFA Mens Senior Premier League, where I gained a-lot of experience on the pitch playing alongside former professionals and players who had once represented their country.
After graduating from Pittwater House in Sydney, I moved back to Sweden to extend my help into the family business, where I have gained an awful amount of experience in the business world, particularly in fields such as accounting, budgeting, working with investors, and the tools and techniques applied to start a successful business, which I believe will help me a long way in a collegiate education in the business field. However, with committing to the family business as well as external factors such as Covid19 and more, I struggled to dedicate my time to a college degree, which I now have the opportunity to do.
During my time in Sweden since finishing high school I have continued to play competitive soccer at Stockholm club Bergshamra IF.
I hope to be able to showcase my hard work, dedication, and talent on and off the field at a college in the USA.
