Personal Statement
My name is Anton Fannar, and I am an 19-year-old right back or central defender from Iceland and graduated in May 2023 My goal is to develop both my soccer and academic careers at a school that is competitive in both categories. Among my strengths are my speed(fastest on my team in Iceland) passing ability, especially under pressure, and overall defending abilities, I can play as a right or left back and as a central defender. I have some international playing experience playing in tournaments in Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands. I was the captain of the U-19 team in Breidablik in Iceland, but as a captain I was the U-17 Icelandic Champion and the runner-up in the U-17 Cup. Last year I joined Aegir a senior club playing in the second highest division in Iceland where I had 1 goal and 2 assists and was nominated the most promising player of the team. I am a hard worker and I do well in school and I always try to be positive. I joined FAU in January and played in all the spring 6 games with FAU and I really enjoyed my time there. My father and grandfather both played for the Icelandic national team. I enjoy spending time with my dog Lisa and with my friends, family and teammates.
