Personal Statement

My name is Kevin Abraham and I'm 18 years old currently (D.O.B. = Oct 3rd 2002). I Studied abroad in the UK before moving to the USA recently and I'm looking for a good college or university that I can get an admission into.

Passion and determination is what gets people to their desired destinations and dreams. My passion lies in soccer, whilst using every opportunity that is given to me to allow me to reach that desired goal.

I was born in India, before moving to the United Kingdom at the age of just 1 and a half years old, where me and my family have lived for the last 17 years. We migrated to the United States of America just before the start of 2021 after my mother had secured a job here. Whilst doing all of my education in the UK, I also found my love for the sport and trained and bettered myself which has made me the player I am today.

I have always lived a sporting lifestyle whether soccer or not from a very young age. At the age of 9, soccer became a part of my life and even though I joined my first official club at a later stage of 15 years old, I have made rapid progress and my work rate has never dropped below 100% whether in a match or a training session. My dedication is second to none and evident through my sheer determination in order to train myself and never give up. An example is during the lock down restrictions in the UK when I would run 2 and a half miles every weekday to the nearby park where I would do soccer drills and training by myself and run back.

I have always idolised Cristiano Ronaldo due to his sheer will of never giving up and always improving. I try to live by this example by treating every training session and match as a new challenge, striving to perform at the top of my level each time. I bring many qualities to the table, stretching from leadership all the way through to my footballing skills that I have worked hard to achieve. The opportunity I had to captain my team built a strong leader in me, teaching me to show patience and working well under team conditions. I am a performer who loves to play to the best of my ability within the laws of the game showing great sportsmanship, keeping a composed head and excelling under extreme pressure where perhaps others may struggle. I am a goal-scorer and never shy off from taking a chance. In my football career I have created many chances and scored plenty of goals as an attacker, all through hard work and determination. However my biggest quality is my ability to dribble and keep possession of the ball, finding pockets of space to dribble into and create chances. I am quick and versatile and can dribble past players as this is something I have trained and tried to perfect over time.

My teacher once stated that 'perfect practice makes perfect', I always play and train by this saying, giving my absolute most to get better and perform at the top levels. This is also something I try to implement during my education, to learn and perfect the area objective by constant revision, and trying to solve any areas of uncertainty through seeking for guidance, overall.....TO NEVER GIVE UP!

There is a lack of Indians or Asians at the top level of soccer, and I would like to change that through my desired goal, being an influence to many youths of ethnic minorities in the future to take risks and reach out for their goal whatever it may be. I firmly believe that immense support is needed to reach such goals in life. This is where many fall off, lack of support and confidence even though there is great potential in them. I am lucky to have parents who are willing to support me and back me in whatever my aspirations are. But the real reason for me being able to perform at high levels and climb the soccer ladder is God. As a Christian I strongly believe all my accomplishments come through Him and His works though me as a player, as without the Lord I don't believe that I would be here at this current level. Along with this faith and reassurance, I am able to perform at high rates without stumbling at obstacles caused by pressure and the high asking rates.

Club Information

  • Seasons of Club Experience:
  • 5 seasons
  • 2020 Chelmsford Athletic FC (Youths)
  • Notes: I joined this club before the corona virus restrictions were placed in the UK, only allowing me to train for a couple months alongside this team before the training and matches were cancelled due to restrictions and lock downs. Before re-joining the team my family including myself had migrated to the States which marked the end of my youth football in the UK and a possible new start to 'soccer' in the States.
  • 2020 Broomfield Flame FC (U18)
  • Notes: This season I knew was going to be the last season with this team as I had made my mind up about wanting a greater challenge, I played my final season with everything I had giving the team my most.
  • 2019 Broomfield Flame FC (U17)
  • Notes: This season I had shown my true ability, which allowed the coach to see great potential in me, hence gifting me the number 11 shirt. I continued to produce my 100% work ethic and contribute as much as possible to the club's achievements.
  • 2018 Broomfield Flame FC (U16)
  • Notes: This season for me was the season which allowed me to show-case my inner abilities as a player, bringing out all my abilities and skills and improving as a player and performer myself, whilst strengthening relations with my team-mates and coaches within the club.
  • 2017 Broomfield Flame FC (U15)
  • Notes: I joined this team without any prior 'soccer' records or game-time. I started off as an occasional player who'd come on and off the bench, but i quickly made myself known to the players and manager and managed to earn a respected regular position in the starting 11.
