Personal Statement
Daan started playing soccer at age 7. In the SV Venray U15 team, Daan competed in the national youth divisions, competing against large Dutch amateur club youth teams and Dutch professional youth academy teams. During the 2017-2018 season, he was captain of his team, and he won the league championship with his team.
He lastly played in the SV Venray U19 team, competing in the 3rd Division National (3rd highest national youth division).
Daan is a right back, who can play as a center back, as a left back, Right and left mid, and as a sweeper. He is a hardworking player who coaches teammates a lot. He doesn’t shy away from the physical aspect of the game, winning challenges with his excellent timing, technique, and use of physical strength.
Besides his defensive duties, Daan is a winger who loves to make attacking runs down the flank. His excellent stamina and endurance allow him to keep making these runs. He is a real team player and shows leadership qualities on the pitch.
Daan Captained the BLC Vikings in the UMAC NCAA D3 since his sophomore year. He also lead them to their first conference championship ever!
Daan will graduate with his undergrad in the spring of 2023 and will have 2 years of eligibility left due to covid and a medical redshirt. Daan is looking for a 1.5/2-year grad school with a soccer program he could play for
