Personal Statement
Dear Coach,
I am thrilled at the opportunity to express my collegiate goals and aspirations to you. Soccer has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember, and I believe that pursuing a degree in outdoor recreation and tourism, with a focus on diving and maritime studies, will allow me to combine my love for the sport with my interest in exploring the natural world.
My ultimate goal is to excel both academically and athletically during my time in college. I aim to contribute significantly to your team's success on the field while also striving for excellence in the classroom. I see myself not only as a player but also as a leader, someone who can motivate and inspire my teammates to perform at their best.
What sets me apart as a candidate is my diverse range of interests and experiences. While I am deeply passionate about soccer, I also have a strong desire to explore and understand the world around me, particularly through outdoor activities such as diving. My interest in maritime studies further reflects my curiosity about the ocean and its ecosystems, I am from Australia and we have some of the best reefs in the world.
In terms of character, I pride myself on my determination, resilience, and strong work ethic. I am someone who is willing to put in the extra effort to achieve my goals, both on and off the field. I am also a team player, always looking out for the best interests of my teammates and willing to do whatever it takes to support them.
Athletically, I bring a combination of skill, agility, and tactical awareness to the field. I am constantly striving to improve and hone my abilities, whether it be through regular training sessions or studying the game film to identify areas for growth.
Academically, I am committed to excelling in my studies and maintaining a strong GPA. I understand the importance of balancing academics and athletics and am fully prepared to dedicate myself to both pursuits. Currently I am in year 10 and studying an associate level qualification in sports coaching.
In summary, I believe that my passion for soccer, coupled with my interests in outdoor recreation and tourism, make me a unique and valuable addition to your team.
