Personal Statement
My objective is to obtain a degree in the area of my study and develop further to achieve my soccer goals.
I am a hard-worker, ambitious and get pride seeing my own improvements both academically and in soccer. I am a great team-player with good technical ability. Given my soccer experience and attributes, I believe I have what it takes to contribute positively towards the college team I will represent.
What makes me different?
I know I have what it takes to be a success in any college scholarship program because I work hard both academically and sports.
I am passionate about soccer. I enjoy training hard and seeing the hard work inputted come out in my games. I am realistic and know my weaknesses. I make sure to work and improve on my weaknesses whether that be in team training or putting in the extra hours individually.
Every time I step out on to the pitch, I want to be the best player on the pitch. Although this is important to me, playing for and helping the team is my top priority. I am a great team player who has a positive attitude on the pitch and compliment my teammates when due. If a teammate is in a better scoring position than me, I will not look for glory instead I will pass to my teammate.
I am a very technical player and I love to take players on 1v1. I have got good game awareness and always look for the forward pass.
Though I am not the tallest of players this does not put me down and makes me fight more to prove I am as good as anyone else. I make up for the height by being strong, quick in my movement and change in direction due to lower center of gravity.
I believe that my determination will take me far in soccer.
For me getting a degree holds a lot of value and is equally important as soccer; it provides another career pathway in life.
I would like to come out of college a more independent person having interacted with more students from all over the world. My ultimate goal from the college soccer is to go pro and find my way into and MLS team. I know with the college soccer programme and my determination my goals are achievable.
