As I was going into freshman year I made the switch from keeper to the field. I was able to learn a lot more about the game and positioning. Eventually, by the end of the season, I was playing in some varsity games. Fast forward to sophomore year and I played a lot. Some of it was on varsity, but I played almost the whole game in Jv and Fresh/Soph. I was still a varsity player but I knew that there was still a lot of room to grow. Learning from the Upperclass men taught me that you can always improve your game no matter what the circumstances are. Since then I have learned that you have to be committed, and work hard everyday if you want to improve. Since my freshman and sophomore year we have been one game away from state each year. Our team has never gone to state before, we lost last year in Pk's while dominating the whole game. Throughout that season we were ranked 3rd in the state and had high hopes. I learned that you can never take a game for granted and play every game like it is your last. After my sophomore year I went to the field every day and used what I learned from the season into practice whether it was playing with friends or by myself. I made the Iowa ODP team after trying out for 5 consecutive years. I was excited to see all of my work pay off and continue to improve with ODP. I know that the hard work you do now will pay off in the end no matter what you have to go through to get there.
From these experiences there have been a lot of ups and downs but I am thankful for all of it. I can't wait to experience these as a collegiate athlete. I am a very diverse player, I know a lot about the game and I am determined to make any team better. I have a strong worth ethic, positive attitude and want what's best for the team. I know that I have what it takes to be a college athlete!
