Tommy Jernigan '22 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6'2" , 190 lb CB that plays for MLS Next MSL Sporting Kansas City Academy with an ACT score of 32.  My goal is to play soccer at a university where I can excel athletically and academically.

I started playing soccer at an institute based on the French coaching system where the coach emphasized individual player development.  I was able to travel multiple times to France and Guadeloupe to play with academies and pre-academies.  I really grew as a player through this process.

In 2018, I joined MSL Sporting Kansas City Academy, which is a great opportunity to train and play at a high level. I currently play center back, but I grew up playing left back and center midfielder. I enjoy a possession game where I can distribute the ball and will adjust style of play to meet the needs of the team and coach.

Academically, I am in gifted programming, enjoy STEM classes and am interested in studying computer science.  I enjoy playing chess, solving Rubik’s Cubes and teaching younger kids soccer.
