Personal Statement

My name is Brennen Callahan and I am a class of 2024 student-athlete at Bishop Brossart High School in Northern Kentucky. I have played competitive soccer, basketball, baseball since an early age and have also competed on the Cross Country and Track teams. My soccer career started at age three and I have always considered soccer to be my favorite sport. At all levels of my career I have always been told that I have a strong soccer IQ, excellent field vision and that I am a very coachable player. I am a team first player who gets as much excitement out of assisting a goal as scoring a goal. I am very versatile on the field, open to constructive criticism, and always give my best effort no matter the score or the opponent. My main focus is to continuously improve my game with the hopes of making a college soccer roster.

Good in tight spaces, and makes good use of moves to beat defenders. Ball Control - Quality first touch in space, and controls the ball under pressure. Tactical Abilities - 89 / 100 Speed Of Thought - Has good ideas and tries to play fast. This will only help future growth. Reading The Game - Does well seeing the first level of pressure and making appropriate decision on the ball. Physical Abilities - 87 / 100 Speed - Great speed overall, in particular when running into space. Will be an important asset going forward. Explosiveness - Great quickness and explosiveness, especially in the first step or two. Mental Abilities - 92 / 100 Competitiveness - Showed a strong desire to win and seems to enjoy the competition. Keep working hard! Team Player - Great team-first attitude. Was encouraging and supportive to teammates throughout camp. Coach's Comments Brennan has a solid basis of technical ability and was one of the more creative guys during the games. He played multiple positions in the midfield and did a great job at finding the ball and connecting passes I liked the fact that Brennan could still have good speed of play in the harsh conditions and connect passes and get chances in the attacking third. If he continues to grow and develop he could definitely make a college roster down the road. Individual Technical Ability - You seemed to be a technical player. It is sometimes easy for a technical player to take time off and work on other things. Always make technical preparation a priority. Physical - As your continue to grow and your body changes it is important to try and make sure you are doing the proper things to continue to build and maintain strength in the proper areas. Leadership - You had a very good work rate and were all over the field. Although it is not easy to have a voice when you don't know a lot of names you still have a voice. Try to be as vocal as you can.
