My name is Chase Hechemy. I am a 2021 graduate from Madison Southern High School in Berea, KY and I am very interested playing soccer at the collegiate level. Although I have the ability to play other positions, I have been playing midfielder and defensive midfielder. Additionally, I am very strong with both my left and right foot.
I have been very fortunate in my education and sports and have some great successes to date. Some of those successes include: Holding a GPA of 3.5 or above, being a member of the National Honor Society, winning the KHSSA Soccer District Championships my sophomore, junior, and senior year. Also, I was Team Captain on my high school soccer team for both my my junior and senior year. Additionally, I won the Regional Doubles Tennis Championship with my younger brother my freshman year, and was a KHSSA High School Regional Qualifier and KHSSA High School State Qualifier in Tennis as eighth, ninth and tenth grader (couldn't play last year due to the pandemic).
I am competitive by nature and I don't like to loose! Otherwise, I am an easy-going quiet guy. I am respectful, follow the rules and do what needs to be done or what is asked of me. I have been an athlete as long as I can remember. I have played soccer since I was 5 years old and have been involved with tennis since I could hold a racquet. My father is an exceptional tennis player who doesn't really loose when he plays. Most people who play tennis in the state have heard of him. This had an impact on me growing up. I have learned a great deal about being an athlete and a competitor from him. He has taught me about setting goals, working hard, performing your best and being a good sportsman. While I enjoy tennis very much, soccer is the sport I am most passionate about. I really love the team dynamics and the challenges of the sport. I am very confident in my ability to play and I play my position well. I have been described by some as a "tank" and a "gritty player". I dig in and I don't give up! I am a good team player and I share the ball well. I feel that I am also a good leader. I believe in leading by example and being a good role model for others. I would also describe myself as loyal and committed. I will give you 110% and will not let you down.
I am looking for a college that I fits me well both academically and athletically. I think a smaller college or university may be a better fit. I am looking to play for a Coach that is respectful, has a good soccer program and will be supportive to his/her players. I have what it takes to play at the college level and I believe my track record shows that I am dedicated, hardworking and committed to the success of the program. I hate to sit the bench and I hate to loose!
