Cosmin Marculeanu '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Cosmin.  I was born in Romania and that is where my love of soccer began.  I loved playing with my friends after school and cheering on the Romanian soccer team.  I moved with my family to the United States when I was 9 years old.  Unfortunately, I was unable to stay with my biological  family and moved in with a foster family who would become my adoptive family when I was 10.  At that time, I was able to join my first soccer league team.  I began playing for the freshman team at my high school when I was in 7th grade.  By the time I was a freshman, I was able to play for the varsity team and have 4 years of varsity experience.  Our team won the district championship when I was a freshman.  In my senior year, we were runners up.  During my career, I earned the awards of bests offensive player (7th grade) and best defensive player (8th grade & 11th grade).  This year, I was named MVP of our soccer team. I also was named to the 1st Team All Region for the Mid-Field position and All Region Tournament Team. In addition to my school team, I have played competitive soccer with Kings Hammer Fury and Futsal.  

Academically, I am also a strong student.  Despite being an English as a Second Language learner, I have taken honors and early college classes. I have maintained a GPA of 3.7.  Although I am not certain of a college major at this time, I am considering business and physical education/coaching.

I feel like my life experiences have given me the grit and determination to be the best player I can be on the soccer field.  I always give 100% to my team & during games.
