Ever since I was young I played soccer in the streets of my neighborhood in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania with balls made of wrapped up plastic bags or old torn up balls. Even after moving to the US with my mother soccer has always been my passion, I enjoyed playing soccer over the years and have grown to love the game with a dream of playing professionally. I am hoping to go to a college/university where I will be challenged and pushed up to my limits in order improve my skills, as well as an opportunity to prove myself as a player and play alongside people who have similar goals and as much love for the game as I do. I see college as a chance to meet people who have aspirations similar to mine in life and will push me to be the best that I can be. I want to attend a school where I will be pushed academically and athletically, where I can make my dreams a reality. I am a first generation high school graduate and college student, so I see this as an opportunity to be successful so that I can celebrate my successes with my mom and to one day provide what she never had. This is inspiration for me as an athlete and as student, driving me to forward in pursuit of a successful college career as I pursue my goals and dreams.
