Passion! I have passion for the sport and that is the start of becoming a great athlete. Being a team player is important to me as well, I am able to score but I am more of an assist player. I have an ability to see the field and my teammates who are open. I love making that perfect pass to the open man. This year I have a new role as Captain. It is a big responsibility but a challenge with deep gratitude that I accepted and I will do my best to help everyone work together to make the team better. My parents taught me that it is important to win with grace and lose with dignity and then always reevaluate after a game no matter win or lose what you could have improved on.
Earlier I mentioned passion and along with that passion for playing soccer, I volunteer my weekends on Saturday to help younger kids learn to love the sport. It all starts with having fun and I try my best to show the kids how fun sports can be. Once they see how amazing the sport is and are having fun you can slowly begin teaching techniques. I see a lot of talent and athleticism in many athletes but the ones that really stand out are the ones that love the sport. Passion gives you that extra push when you are feeling like you can not give anymore. I enjoy the reward at the end of the day when I see the youth that I have worked with excited and loving what they are doing. That is why I see myself working in the sports field after college and helping kids. Sports are so important in teaching life lessons and has taught me many things that I will take with me on my next stage in life.
