My soccer interest was piqued as a young child given my mother's Peruvian upbringing and my parents' love for competitive sports. I played both futsal and soccer since the age of 7 and eventually earned a spot on the US Youth Futsal National Team, which allowed me to play in Barcelona in 2020. Three years ago, I took another step up in soccer after having a successful experience in Sweden at the Gothia Cup through Coerver Academy in Michigan. My performance there led to an invitation to play for both US Developmental Academy teams in Michigan ( Vardar and Wolves). I eventually chose Michigan Wolves due to their history of excellence and outstanding coaching. Because I lived in Grand Rapids, MI, I was 2 hours away from the Wolves facility. I thus endured this 2-hour commute for 3 years thus far, juggling academics and soccer. This dedication made me a stronger person by forcing me to multi-task on the road. It has worked out well so far. I led the team in goals my first year at the Wolves academy despite having to get used to my new team. This year, I was able to maintain a 4.0 GPA as a freshman( while taking AP and Honors courses) and earn a starting spot on the u17 MLS Next academy team while playing up a year. A strength is that I am able to play winger, midfield, forward, or wide back. I mainly play winger utilizing my 1v1 skills, but also excel at attacking mid as I have good passing accuracy. I hope to continue my love for soccer by playing at a high level with the Wolves academy while studying the hard to possibly pursue a career in medicine.
