My goals and aspirations in college are to obtain a degree in the field of sports’ science, medicine and fitness. I know I am still young and my career path may change later on, yet I have always enjoyed helping athletes to reach their maximum physical capacity and I understand the discipline, knowledge and commitment it takes to keep one’s body healthy.
In the soccer field, I am a leader and I keep my head straight under pressure. I can pin difficult situations (e.g., keeping good spirit while losing and helping teammates remain motivated) and I am able to play different positions with significant levels of success.
I work as hard as it takes to be the best in the field and I understand the importance of putting up many hours outside the game to develop quality touches and the skills necessary for the game. I recognize not everyone has access to the game, the traveling and the hours of training – many of my high school friends come from poor socioeconomic backgrounds – and I appreciate every opportunity to learn, play, grow to share with my friends in and out the field.
I generally find opportunities to learn from other athletes’ contributions and properties such as speed, strength, agility and mental toughness. I see myself as one of the strongest players in the field, because I work to increase my strength in the gym daily and I train with coaches who challenge me mentally and physically.
Playing at the 2016 ODP Winter Interregional Tournament, making the All-Star ODP Team and training with coaches of the caliber of Jeff Shuk, Alen Bodenstien and Eric Johnson have helped me understand that I want to pursue the game of soccer at its highest level
I enjoy learning, reading, making music and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to my years in college where I hope to achieve my academic and athletic dreams.
