Austin Looser '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Austin Looser, and I am currently a junior at Athens High School in Troy, MI.  I have been playing soccer since I was five years old, and my dream is to play college soccer at the highest level possible. 

I have always been competitive as an athlete.  I love all sports, but my true passion without a doubt is soccer!  At one time, I played every sport I could—soccer, baseball, basketball, football, and track.  But my defining moment, when I realized that soccer was my true passion, was when I returned home from a trip to Cooperstown, NY for a week of baseball!  I was playing travel soccer and travel baseball at the same time that year.  Although I had fun with my team in Cooperstown, I realized when I was there that baseball was not my passion. The entire time, I kept thinking that I wish there was a Cooperstown for soccer!  When I returned home from that trip, I told my parents that I no longer wanted to play both travel baseball and travel soccer.  Instead, I wanted to play twice as much soccer and quit baseball.  I remember my parents saying, "Austin, are you sure?" I was, in fact, 100 percent sure!  

As my passion for soccer continues to grow, I have realized that my favorite position is attacking mid, and my second favorite is outside mid. During my last evaluation with my current coach, he said the thing he likes about me the best is that he is confident with me anywhere on the field. 

In my spare time, I enjoy watching soccer, playing video games, and editing photos.  I also volunteer at my church as a scorekeeper for basketball and volleyball.  One day, I would love to work in business and have a career in sports marketing. I am currently a member of DECA at my high school, and I look forward to competing at various conferences throughout my high school career.  I am also a member of the National Honor Society and SADD, and I am one of two juniors that run the school store in my high school.
