In my first year on varsity, we accomplished more than I had ever anticipated, and I am proud to have contributed to the team. My entire season stressed the importance of hard work and coach-player responsiveness. Those are some of my strongest traits, and they will guide me the most in my collegiate soccer career and levels beyond. I have played the beautiful game since I was four, and my passion reflects the time I've put in. I am an agile, quick, and bold playmaker with a creative yet intelligent edge. My heritage stands with the Ojibwe and Muskogee tribes, and I am also Filipino.
I standout from other players attacking mids because I have excellent work ethic and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. In my Sophomore season, I took up much more defensive responsibility than I typically do: I played CM, DM, LM, RM, AM, and ST to cover the team’s needs. I am very tactically apt, and I perform considerably more pressing/positional discipline then most attacking mids. I have great communication skills, and I can effectively rally the team when under pressure. My awareness and movement is a standout quality of mine, and my “forward thinking” dribbling is persistent and strong.
I do lots of running activities, track, and weight training. Academically I have always excelled; I am on every high school Honor roll. I am looking for a college with strong and challenging academics. I hope college will eventually serve me in going professional, as that is my long-term goal.
Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement.
