My first name, Ronan, is the Irish spelling of the Japanese word RONIN 浪人 and is a tribute to the famous legend of the 47 Ronin Warriors. These 47 Ronins are celebrated in Japan for their commitment to each other and for honoring their word. On the high school varsity team, I wear #4, but on club teams, I always wear the uniform #47 in their honor. What makes me unique is that I fully embrace the Ronin spirit of "AND" in every aspect of my own life where I strive to be a Leader AND Teammate, Competitor AND Friend, as well as an Athlete AND Student (GPA: 4.41 out of 4.0, AP Scholar with Honors, SAT 1430). Please contact me if your highly competitive academic university is located here in New England and needs a fiercely aggressive player who can balance Compassion AND Passion!
This passion has translated into success on and off the pitch. Starting in 2022, as a sophomore, I earned the starting number 10 position as the central attacking midfielder spot on my high school varsity team. With the ability to control the tempo of the game and score critical goals in overtime and the playoffs, our team advanced to the State Championship Final Four (note the press clippings attached to the profile). In preparation for each soccer season, I run in back-to-back track seasons to continue to increase my full-game box-to-box stamina and attacking speed. (Verified 5K race time of 17:08). This peak level of fitness, along with my natural switch-foot ability has proven to be very advantageous as a dual-threat midfielder - as evidenced by scoring goals utilizing both feet equally. Due to my speed and physicality, I am sometimes called upon to play multiple positions to meet the game's needs (for example - played outside wing-back for part of two games to shut down a fast, aggressive winger). Possessing the necessary skillset to act as a utility player opens up multiple position opportunities for a college-level team.
Off the pitch, I challenge myself to live up to another name, Robert E. Kelly, for whom I was fortunate enough to receive my school's Character Award named in his honor. When I received this award, I was incredibly grateful since I was selected by both the school faculty and my classmates. I tried to be a leader off the pitch and in 2023, I was also chosen to represent my entire high school as their ambassador for the New Hampshire Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Conference. In 2024, I was selected as the Captain of the Varsity Indoor Track Team, Captain of the Varsity Outdoor Track Team, Captain of the Varsity Soccer Team, Student Government Representative, and recipient of the Junior Book Award (Top 10% of the class). My goal is to play college soccer at a school where I can also continue to pursue my passions for innovation and change, as I was selected as a product evaluator for a major international running shoe company and I am even the founder of my high school's very first Pickleball Club (probably the first high school club in the state of New Hampshire).
If interested in seeing me play in person this fall, please get in touch with me at 603-809-6028 or my coach Pedro Zampilli at 617-832-5608.
