My name is Ian Willard and I am a senior at Keene High School, in Keene,NH. where I have been a starter on varsity for the last three years. I have been captain of my travel club, Cheshire United which won many things the past spring and fall. Including the NH President's Cup, NH futsal league, the New England soccer classic and the NHSL spring league. Overall our team went 25-5-1 (W-T-L). I can play many different defensive positions including center back and wing defender, but I believe that I am most useful at defensive midfield.
Most coaches have told me that I’m always looking to better myself. I won the coaches award last fall as a junior because of my work ethic and my efforts to lead by example. I try to always better myself at practices so the games can seem even easier. I have been making great strides in soccer since I started to play seriously in eighth grade. Wherever I play soccer or compete I will bring my all everyday.
I’m very open to where I want to go to school, but I am looking for a school that will allow me to reach my full capacity in life. I hope to play on a team that focuses more toward possession because that will allow my skills to flourish. The kind of college I'm looking for is one that will challenge me academically and one that will provide me with excellent post-graduation opportunities. Scholarship Aid will be essential when evaluating college possibilities. My goal is to find a college where I feel comfortable and one where I can make a difference.
