Hello Coach,
My name is Tyler VanAvery a 5' 8" junior from Londonderry, NH. I play club soccer with Alliance FC (NH) in the NSl Elite Division, D1 high school soccer for Londonderry HS and in my 5th year with NH ODP State team. I consider myself very skilled with the ball, excellent passer, technically and tactically sound, have great field vision and very good over all athletic ability. I am consistently in the top three in scoring and assists on all the teams I play on. I am strong with both feet both shooting and passing with my left being my dominant foot. I primarily play the attacking mid position with my club team but play striker for my high school team and on the ODP team I split time between striker and midfield. Last season my club team finished first in league play for the third straight year, won the GPS Memorial Day Showcase, CFC Showcase and represented NH in the Region I Championships in Virginia. This past high school season my team finished 2nd in D1 and have been selected as captain for the upcoming 2018 season. As part of the 2017 NH ODP State team I was the leading goal scorer in the region 1 tournament and was selected to the Region 1 ODP pool.
As a student, I am working hard and always focused on where I can improve. I am a well-rounded student and had a lot of success in history, social studies and English but have had a few challenges with the sciences and math. I consistantly reach out to my teachers for extra help in the areas that are not my strength. I currently have a 2.81 GPA that I feel confident will be back above a 3.0 after this semester. In addition to my school work and time playing soccer I am a patched referee and volunteer time to the local youth program coaching and training youth soccer players. I am planning to major in business management with a possible concentration in sports management.
Soccer has been my passion since I was 6 years old and I dedicate many hours each week on improving my game. I focus on the fundamentals and keeping my ball skills sharp while staying in good physical condition. Every time I step on the pitch I look at ways to improve my game and help my team. My goal is to play soccer at the highest collegiate level while I work toward my degree. I look forward to hearing from you and hope you will be able to make some of my matches this coming spring season.
