Matthew Conti '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello.  My name is Matthew Conti and I would like to play soccer in college as that experience will help me become a more rounded and functioning adult by teaching me to work harder than those around me and to strive for success while helping those near me do the same.

I have played and excelled at many sports though my youth career and soccer has always been my passion.  Working to become a better athlete has helped me become a better student and helped me mature.  This work ethic, instilled in me by my parents, coaches and teachers has helped me learn there are many aspects to being an athlete, student, employee and family member by teaching and showing me there are always things to observe and learn.   I have also learned to listen better as there are often many ways to say the same things.   While I do not yet know what I would like to major in at college, I do know education will enable me to move forward in life and help me achieve higher goals.  Working through my years of training, I have not always been the fastest or the most skilled, however, by working very hard, I became a starting keeper and defender as a HS Freshman, Sophomore and Junior.  This motivation has helped me achieve a high GPA and become a member of the NHS.  I am becoming a strong leader both on and off the field and hope to be able to lead my teammates to much success.  I consider myself a great teammate and look forward to being on the fields with dynamic and positive athletes.  Working as a certified Youth Soccer Official has taught me to look at the game from additional perspectives and allowed me to interact with other Coaches and Officials, gaining their insight and understanding of the game.
