Joey Adams '22 Recruiting Profile

I am Joey Adams and currently a senior (class of 2022). Throughout my soccer career I have always taken pride and initiative in being a tremendous student of the sport.  Everyday I try to improve at least one area of my game whether it is footwork, speed, technique practice, explosiveness, video breakdown/analysis, and/or strength training.  

I am the starting Varsity Goalkeeper at Haddon Heights High School, on my flight 1  U-19 club team and SJEB Rush team..  During the 2021 High School Varsity season I had 8 shut-outs. I never allowed more than two goals in a game the entire season and allowed 15 goals the entire season (which include some PK's in that number).  I held the #2 seed, #3 seed, and # 4 seed in the Group 2 State Playoffs to 1-0 games during the regular season.  We were 10-8-1 on the season. Six of our eight losses were by a 1-0 score (some of which were PK's). 

My U-19 club team has won the flight 5 out of the past 8 seasons. This Spring (2021) the defense and I had 5 shutouts in 9 games against some high powered offenses. The week of October 6, 2020 I was also named the high school goalkeeper of the week for my conference by nj.com.  In my last EDP tournament (June 2021) with my SJEB Rush Team, the defense and I only gave up 2 goals the entire tournament (one of which was a PK).  I train with the Burlington County Soccer Academy.

Some of my goals include playing goalie at the collegiate level and earning a BA and Masters Degree.  A great match (where the team and I are successful together) is more important to me then a particular college division.  I want to go to a college where I play and help my teammates be successful (and of course win). Additionally, I have a soccer goal in my basement where my dad (former college player) has a soccer JUGS machine that I train with each night.  I also go to the gym 4-5 days a week and train aerobic and anaerobically.  Overall, I am committed to self improvement, dedicated to training, and keeping my GPA above a 3.5.  Academics are just as important as sports to me.  My current class rank is approximately 67 out of 218 students (current GPA 3.72).
