Evan James '25 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing soccer since I was five years old. It's the only sport that I have ever played, and I fell in love with it the first time I stepped on the field. It has been my dream and goal to play college soccer at the highest level possible. I have been working as hard as possible to achieve that dream for many years.

I have played under many coaches and have acquired information and techniques under every one of them and applied them to the game. I am very coachable, and my coaches rely on me as a leader and a role model for my teammates by leading by example. I also have a very high Soccer IQ, along with mental toughness, which enables me to stay focused on the game.

I am currently playing for two separate club teams and have been a captain for four years on one of them. I strive to be a leader by not just the way I play, but the way I act, on every team that I am on. During my High School season I have had the honor of being named a First Team All-Conference player, an All-Area Honorable Mention, along with being a Varsity Captain. I have played on the Varsity team at Phillipsburg High School since Freshman year. I hope that is just the beginning of some of my athletic achievements.

I have an interest in majoring in Biology and I believe that my classes that I have taken in High School have enabled me to learn how to manage my time to handle the workload of a collegiate athlete. I have sustained a high GPA throughout High School and put academics over everything. I look to continue my dedication to the game as a collegiate athlete in the future and strive to be a role model to others.
