Zack Mountain '24 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old. From nearly day one I fell in love with this sport. For the past 11 or so years, I have spent too many hours to count playing this game. From playing years of rec soccer to starting Freshman year as a Striker for my high school this sport has taken me all over the northeast. I am very passionate about soccer but I also strive to do very well in the classroom.  I wish to continue my education at a very good school as well as continue to play the game I love at a very competitive level. Although I am not 100% committed to any major, I enjoy engineering as well as chemistry so I most likely will end up at a college with a very strong engineering or chemistry program.

While I prefer to play as a striker, left-wing or left mid, I feel I am a very versatile player and could potentially play as a full-back, wing-back, or right-wing. I play with a very attacking-mindset and direct play style. I am very fast with and without the ball and I am always looking to not only make space for myself but also look to make runs to drag defenders and open space for my other teammates. I am very strong in 1 on 1 finishing and I use my speed often on the wing to beat defenders and drive in crosses. On the left in particular I often cut in on the inside and finish with my right or continue to use my speed and cross with my left. I feel I have a very strong tactical understanding of many different formations and styles of play. I watch professional soccer very often and I am (unfortunately) an Arsenal fan. I run track and field during the winter and spring as well as play club soccer year-round. Competing in track and field I can continue to work on my speed and strength in the offseason. In track, I am an all-conference and all-county runner in the 400 and in the high jump as well as the long jump.
