When I was ten, I tried out for club soccer, but was put on the lower team despite having played recreation from age three. I had had minimal exposure to high-level technical skills. By age eleven, I came to practice early until I could juggle 100 times, worked constantly on footwork, and became striker and a leading goalscorer on my team. By the time tryouts came, I was sure I could make the top team. But, I made the same team. It wasn’t until halfway through the season I was elevated to the highest team, and I finally got to play with the best in the club.
Ever since, I have striven for the best work ethic. I have always given 100% in and out of the classroom. Now I have obtained a starting spot on my club team, become a leader for my high school team, and twice won the PTFC Spirit award given to the player who represents the ideals of PTFC as a club. I have been the person to beat when it comes to hard work. I will always try to excel in whatever I am doing, and I will never stop working hard.
At this point, I am aspiring to play college soccer. I aim to play at a high level. I also aim to attend an academically challenging school. Education is very important to me. I have made straight A’s in honor level classes my entire life. My work ethic and determination have assisted me in academics and athletics. Now, I wish to carry my hard work into a college environment where I can excel.
