Soccer is, and always has been, more than a sport or favorite pastime to me.
When I moved to Ohio a few years ago, I had always been a strong athlete. However, moving showed me that participating in competition with others through sports was an integral part of learning to adapt to new situations. Participating in soccer allowed me to connect with others that had similar interests, and focus my energy on achieving personal goals related to the game.
Specifically, in my sophomore year, as I was put in the striker position, I learned I could adapt to new positions and new responsibilities, and that with hard work I could be successful in challenging situations. Furthermore, as an all around athlete, both my speed and endurance from track and cross country allowed me to work hard and become a more well rounded player in soccer. After further developing my skills, it became easier for me to play not only as striker, but in other forward positions as well, all while still remaining a strong defensive player.
Playing soccer has enhanced my leadership qualities, my understanding of game strategy, and my attitude of perseverance, helping me to develop both as a person and as an athlete.
With my aggressive style of play, well rounded skill-set, and hard work ethic, I believe I am a good candidate for your team.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
