David McAllister '13 Recruiting Profile

  I am honored to have this opportunity to present myself for your consideration.  I am well aware that "on paper" I have several areas where I may fall short of your expectations.  I do feel that it is my strengths in life that would be an asset to your program.  I grew up being moved in and out of foster care and between miscellaneous family members.  I was surrounded by negative influences and academics were not a priority for my birth family.  The turning point for me was when I became a ward of the state and was able to be considered for adoption.  My sister and I were blessed to be introduced to the family that I now call my own.  At the age of ten, they introduced me to God, family, friends and soccer.  Through their structure, guidance and unconditional love,  I am now a man who has learned to be dedicated player, a leader, and a coachable athelete who strives constantly to improve.  Even though I am a man of few words off of the field, I take command of the field the minute I step into the goal.
  I am 6 feet tall and weigh 155 pounds.  As a Freshman I worked my way into a starting Varsity Goal Keeper position. This year, as a junior, I had set a personal goal to be an All-Ohioan.  My commitment to my teammates and to my school allowed me to achieve this goal.  My other personal commitment is to earn the highest GPA that I can realistically accomplish.  I work four times a week with tutors to help me achieve my goal.  I am committed to getting a college degree and to continue improving my skills as a person and a player.  A soccer program and college such as yours could help me achieve these goals and succeed in life.    In return, I know that I can be a valuable asset to your program if given the opportunity.  I look forward to talking to you soon and am very grateful for your time.
