My first exposure to soccer came from informal and intense games on the school playground in second grade. From the time I was able to understand the fast-paced and harmonic nature of the game I was hooked. My passion and intensity have only increased through highschool and club play. One of the most memorable manifestations of this devotion came when I scored in overtime in the district semifinals during golden goal off a perfect cross from my teammate. It was the teamwork and effort of the entire squad that made this moment so memorable, and it highlights the precise reason I want to continue and play at the college level.
Although my passion continued to grow throughout the years, unfortunately, my physical size did not. I had to learn to play against kids that were physically larger and more dominant than me, and when I finally grew, the skills I had learned as a smaller player helped me in a tactical sense, but more importantly, it gave me a balanced sense of self-confidence. I am looking for a school that will allow me to continue developing on the field and in the classroom. Being part of a team that is driven towards success will enhance my own efforts and drive in premedical studies. I know I have what it takes to be a valuable team member and a leader on your team.
