I am an overcomer! My high school soccer career began with me playing backup keeper to two upperclassmen during my freshman year. I practiced more, worked on techniques, and within five games I was my team's starting keeper. At the end of my first season, I was recognized with conference and district honors. I continue to work and improve my goalkeeping delivery through training and playing futsal. This past season I was named "SOC Defensive Player of Year".
Growing up in Appalachia, I continue to focus on the needs of my community by applying myself to make a difference. I volunteer at a group home serving males with developmental disabilities and I assist with events at an alcohol and drug treatment center. I have two siblings who are currently serving our country through the Air Force and the Peace Corps, and I strive to represent myself and my community well while attending college. I perform "random acts of kindness" to demonstrate humanity is still present, and this past summer mowed lawns for free to persons unable to do so.
Soccer has taught me many life's lessons including working hard pays off, communication in the goal is paramount, and listening to feedback allows for an opportunity in growth.
