Charles Bettger '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Charles Bettger. I am a senior at Valley Catholic HS. I have been playing soccer since I was three years old and have always been in love with the beautiful game. Since I have been playing at a competitive level, I have had the desire to play at a higher level and constantly challenge myself to become a better player and person. My main goal for college soccer is to play at the most competitive possible level to help improve as a player and to get a degree that will help me in the future. I play primarily as a defensive, attacking, or box-to-box midfielder. Coaches have told me I am a good leader and have a good soccer IQ, technical ability, and tactical awareness. Due to my size I always play with a chip on my shoulder. In the past two years I was named captain of my HS varsity team as a junior. Senior year I won league player of the year on my team's way to winning a fourth consecutive league title and in 2019 won USCS regionals and Nationals.
