Since the age of 4 I have been playing soccer. My parents have pictures of me in diapers sleeping with a soccer ball. It is one of the first things I picked up by learning how to dribble a soccer ball that has never been left go. My parents have always been there for me, cheering me on from the very beginning and are a huge part of my career. They have always made sure I have continued to play with a competitive team and I’ve continued to grow within the sport.
Now, I am 17 and I don’t know what I would do without being on a soccer field. Soccer has taught me so much about who I am. From ages 4 to 17 I have gained so many life lessons both on and off the field. Through soccer I have learned to be a stronger person, composed, confident, assurance, have team synergy, a role model, leader, respect and many more great characteristics that I will carry with me forever.
Although, I have not chosen an academic field of study I have set my goal on still perfecting the game of soccer and playing into college. I know that I will most likely pick a professional career that allows me to work with my hands. I am confident that with my unique skills and abilities it will allow me to succeed and get along with anyone. I love to be challenged on and off the field and I have friends from all backgrounds and abilities. Some of my unique skills are vision and speed. On the soccer field I have a vision for placement of the ball and to be able to see the field and my teammates to know just where to place the ball for progression down the field, cross into the box or a shot on goal. Additionally, my speed, my agility and quickness are a focus to be reckoned as I can go from jogging to a full sprint in mere seconds chasing down an opponent or attacking the ball. I have experience playing both defense and offense and being very adaptable based on the game and strategy needed.
