I have many reasons for wanting to play soccer in college. I feel like one reason stands over the rest; playing four more years of the sport I love. I love soccer with a deep passion and I believe I am determined and ambitious enough to put a spark in any college program early on. While in college I would like to pursue a degree in the business management field. I feel that even though I would like to be a state trooper, having a business management degree would only advance me more quickly throughout the ranks.
Currently I am a sophomore at Selinsgrove High School. I weigh 135 pounds and I'm 5'7. My sophomore season was my first full varsity season, I played in a couple of games as a freshmen. I am working and will continue to work very hard every day to get better and I would appreciate the opportunity to play on the highest possible level. In addition to playing outside back I also saw playing time at defensive and outside mid-fielder. In addition to playing high school soccer I also participated in AYSO soccer from age five through age 14 and club soccer (NorCenPenn) for six years. During the winter months I play on two indoor teams to keep in shape and this summer I am playing for the Harrisburg City Islanders Academy in their U16 age group.
Off the field I am a good student with a 3.3 GPA, normally making the honor roll. I have passed all the PSSA's required to graduate and at the end of my junior year I will have everything except 2-3 electives completed (meaning I will be able to take college classes my senior year of high school). I also work part-time as a dishwasher at a local inn.
In 5th grade I was nominated by one of my teachers to the People to People Student Ambassador Program. That year I traveled with a group of people from the Harrisburg area to England and France for two weeks. Being able to watch the changing of the guard, ride on the London eye, and visit Stonehenge at such a young, impressionable age are just some of the things that I will never forget. I also participated in Boy Scouts for four years.
In my spare time I like to play basketball and soccer with my brothers, friends, and mom; hangout with my girlfriend; and watch my younger brother play soccer for his traveling team.
