My name is Jack Glew, I am currently 15 years old going into my sophomore year at Ponaganset high school. I have been playing soccer since I was 6 years old in recreational town leagues and super league. When I was 8 years old my parents thought I needed better competition so I moved up to a premier team called GPS (Global Premier Soccer) in which we played 10 months of the year (outdoor fall, indoor futsal and outdoor spring). I played with them for 6 years and now I play for a different premier team called Rhode Island Surf. When I get a chance I always sign up for extra clinics and camps, so I can get myself to the best of my ability.
In my 8th grade year I was awarded the Brian Fell award, this is an award presented to four individuals in our school district. One male and one female in 8th grade and one male and one female in 12th grade. This award consists of on-field achievement, academic excellence, co-curricular activities and community service, and character.
I have a brother with special needs, we love to play Unified sports together. I volunteer my time on Sundays in our town TOPS program. TOPS is a program that pairs a special needs child with an athlete who will help teach skills in soccer, basketball and tee ball.
