When I was a sophomore playing soccer, I didn't make my high school team. I felt I did good during tryouts, but after looking back I didn't do as good as I thought I did. This changed something in me. It made me get serious about my life and want to play soccer competitively. In addition, I wanted to better myself as a person. As a result, I trained more diligently than ever before. Since then, I have joined a travel team and gotten myself used to playing competitively. After making all these changes, I came back my junior year and made the team.
Through my years playing this sport, I have learned commitment, determination, leadership, and how to be a team player. I hope to hone the skills I have learned while attending a program that helps me grow more as a student and challenge me as a player. I believe that I can bring leadership, character, and good work ethic to any program I join in the future.
