My name is Josh Segert and I started playing competitive soccer in 8th grade. I’ve played on the Varsity team (Shelton School) throughout high school, making the starting eleven in both my Sophomore (Forward/Right Back) and Junior years (Right Back); receiving honorable mention All-Area as a Junior. I’ve been focused on continuous improvement through training with Footy Factory Academy since 2014, as well as recently joining a club team (Dallas International Stars FC). While putting a lot of effort into soccer, I’ve also had to keep up my work effort in the class room. Having dyslexia has made school challenging for me, especially when it comes to reading and writing, but despite this I have managed to keep a 3.6 GPA. My college goal is to play at the highest competitive level while getting a good education and graduating with a business degree in four years. I believe that playing a collegiate sport will provide the discipline, focus and structure that will help me succeed personally and academically.
