I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old, and my competitive nature continues to drive me. One of my life goals is to play at a high-level soccer program while pursuing my career degree.
My soccer experience has given me the opportunities to grow as an individual and as a team player. I have a great understanding of the game and the commitment it takes to become a next level player. My strong work ethic has allowed me to develop my soccer skills technically and mentally. I received the “Gene Smith” Spirit Award which goes to the most committed player on the varsity team throughout the season, I was the only freshman to ever receive this award. I’m a strong believer that what you put in during training will be the outcome of your performance.
I was a starting winger for my high school varsity soccer team as a freshman and earned District Honorable Mention. I’m currently playing in a club team (NPL league) which made it to the NPL Finals last year and we are currently undefeated this year. As a result of my leadership development over the years, I’m now on of the captains on our club team. One of my biggest strengths I have is that I’m very coachable.
While soccer gives me a purpose, academics are a priority in our household. While playing soccer all year long, I have been able to maintain a GPA of 3.48 (4-point scale). I also participate in our local Fellowship Christian Athlete program, volunteer my time with several local organizations and work at our family business. I also love helping younger soccer players improve their game, so I volunteer my time in helping middle school coaches during their practices.
It would be an honor to attend a university who will value my soccer talents, develop me, and provide me with a great educational experience.
