Luke Hanes '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a senior in high school and passionate about taking my game to the next level. I earned first team All State in Texas after leading my team to the state championship. I scored both goals in a 2-0 shutout victory in the championship game and earned game MVP. 

I am a bit later than average in the recruiting process because I was out with an injury last year (HS junior).  I focused on getting myself back to over 100% for this season. Due to the injury, I missed out on opportunities to get noticed through ID camps, showcases, etc. That said, I did participate in a camp at SMU and was awarded MVP. 

I am a lifelong multi-sport athlete, having excelled at sports like football, baseball, basketball, lacrosse and even surfing and snowboarding. I originally considered pursuing D1 college football as one of my coaches strongly encouraged me that I had the size, speed and athleticism to pursue an SEC football career. I am 6'2" and 185#, run a 4.6 second 40 and vertical jump of 34". That said, I truly fell in love with soccer my sophomore year when I led the varsity team, scoring 22 goals and realized that I had the talent to pursue soccer at the collegiate level. This dream was fanned by our head coach, Monty Page, who played soccer at the professional level in Brazil.

I'm strong leader and student - team captain, 3.73 GPA and National Honor Society  - and I would love to have an opportunity to show interested coaches what I'm capable of.
