My name is Kenyon Grange and I am 16 years old. I attend Viewmont High School in Bountiful, Utah. I play for my club team, MetaSport FC, and my high school team. I made the high school team my Freshmen year and every year since. Our team won the Region Championship my Freshmen year and last season was cut short due to COVID-19. While attending school and playing competitive soccer, I work a part-time job at a local restaurant. These experiences have taught me discipline, leadership, responsibility, and being punctual. I am determined and want to pursue higher education, as well as my athletic development. When I was 11 years old, I was selected for the ODP 2004 Boys group. We trained locally and traveled to Nevada to compete. This experience made me think about playing at higher levels of soccer. From this point, I have wanted to achieve this goal of playing at a higher level.
I currently play at MetaSport FC. I'm on the 2004 team that is in P1. Most recently, my club team won Utah’s President’s Cup and was scheduled to play at regionals. Unfortunately, the regional tournament was canceled due to Covid-19. I am the captain and have been since the start of the team 4 years ago. Being captain is a good role for me because I feel that I have my teammates' trust and listen to me. I start all games as a midfielder (both attacking and defending). I have never missed a game with a significant injury. With being the captain I have to set an example for my team.
I have also found success playing with the 2002 team. Not only do I get plenty of playing time, but I also get to play different positions like striker and winger. I attend all practices and sometimes practice with the older 2002 teams.
I am reliable and stay focused on the role I play and the objective I'm trying to complete. I make sure to stay on top of my school work and other responsibilities. I am dedicated and this shows through my school work while balancing a part-time job and playing competitive soccer. I make sure to get good grades and complete all my classes, including honors and CE classes. My work ethic, determination, leadership, reliability, educational goals, and character are the things that set me apart from other recruits.
