Hey! My name is Samuel Camey, I am a senior attending Grand County High School. I did two other sports (Cross County: 4 years & Track: 1 year) while playing my main sport (Soccer: 3 years). I was very little when I started playing soccer with my family. During my Highschool Years I was starting for one of the most dominant soccer teams in our region. As years progressed I was picking up a voice on my team and finding my playstyle along with having a leadership role along with my teammates. I am very excited for my team this coming spring as it will be a true fight for me and my teammates to reach state, it will require a lot of work and determination to help my team get there and I am more than happy to sacrifice a lot to get far this year.
While growing up I lost my Dad and brother in a car accident in 2020 and it made me change as a person. They were one of my biggest impacts for my love of this sport, now I will do the best I can everyday to get to the level that my brother and I dreamed of being. With Covid hitting soon after the passing of my dad and brother, I had time to reflect on the things that I needed to work on and it created a lot of my character to this day. Finding that I can be grateful with any opportunity and very disciplined and determined with the goals that I can set for myself. With the hard work I have also learned to enjoy and love the game the way I did with my dad and little brother. My love for this amazing sport grows everyday and I would love to build my challenges and work harder to get to my goals in the future.
