Joseph Paul '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Joseph Paul. I am a junior at Judge Memorial Catholic High School.  I've been playing striker since I was 4 years old.  I love the sport and would love to have the opportunity to play in college.  I work hard both on the field and in the classroom.

I led the comp league in goals nearly every year as the youngest player.  This spring, I am currently leading the state of Utah with 22 goals and 10 assists. I started every game as a freshman on my high school varsity soccer team and scored 10 goals. I think what makes me unique as a player, is my speed and ball handling skills.  This Spring I am running track as well as playing soccer. I qualified for the State track meet in the first meet I ever attended. I have been clocked at a 4.3 when I run a 40 yd dash.

I work hard in the classroom as well.  I have challenged myself in school, taking AP and honors classes and doing Presidential level service.  I will have 9 AP classes and I received a 4.4 GPA last quarter.

I have played up by 2 years on the Premier Firebirds team as long as I have played soccer, but decided to play in my age group in 2016. I have played for the Firebirds which transferred the premier teams to the Utah Development Academy, UDA.  This team took 2nd in the state two years ago as "Firebirds".  In my first on this new UDA team, we won our Premier division in the state for U17.  I led the team in scoring and assists, with 18 goals. This year, our U18 UDA team won the division and the State Cup finals. We went on to play the RSL Academy team and won 3-0.
