I’ve been playing soccer all my life and I enjoy the dedication and determination it takes to play at a high level. I set high standards for myself and I spend countless hours each week outside of practice developing and bettering my technical abilities.
As a leader I am not a raw-raw, hype kind of teammate. I try to set an example of dedication and high level consistency to my teammates on and off the field.
When I asked my coaches from the last 5 years what my strengths are they all said something similar "I know that if Carson is in the back we are solid and protected".
As a teammate I am flexible in defender positions and have an aggressive style of play. This means I can move pretty easily between right, center, and left back positions, and that I am very physical defending on the ball and making good decisions to find openings for my teammates to attack.
I've moved around a few times because of my family and I think playing on different teams in Michigan and Utah has given me experience for different types of coaches and styles of play and has helped me to develop into a better player. I think this, along with my skills, dedication to the game and experience set me a part as a talent that can help any program at the next level.
Academically, I am interested in several different areas of study, but am undecided. One path that seems interesting is sports medicine. I know being a student athlete at a college level will give me a good idea of what that is like.
