I stumbled into soccer at the age of 10 and have grown to live and breathe the sport. I am a highly motivated and dedicated athlete, but I have not been without my personal and athletic challenges. My sophomore year as a Junior Varsity starter was a defining year for me, as I had to learn that a competitive attitude must be appropriately channeled to be an effective leader. In order to be selected for the Varsity team - a two-time State Championship team with elite players - I had to prove to the team and the coach that I could be a positive addition to the team in attitude, not just skill. Working hard in the classroom and off the field, I rose to the challenge and was given the opportunity to play - and eventually start -as a junior. I was extremely lucky to be an integral part of our team's TCIS Championship win, as well as our third consecutive State Championship win where I scored the game's only goal. I am learning every day how to be a better team leader through silent strength and integrity on the field. As a senior, I am looking forward to leading our team with my senior classmates to another possible TCIS and State Championship. As a student at a college preparatory school with rigorous academics, I have been able to complete the challenges of balancing club soccer, Varsity soccer and a demanding academic load. I am interested in studying Science, specifically Biology or Environmental Science, but I am also open to exploring other courses of study. I am excited about the many possibilities that being a college student-athlete offers.
