My name is Parker Sterkel, and I am going into my Senior year at Ellensburg High School. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 and have been a High School Varsity Goalkeeper for 3 years now. This past season, I had a recorded 145 saves! I currently train with the Central Washington Sounders in Yakima, play high school ball, and play internationally. I am passionate about soccer and interested in exploring hour far it will take me.
My Freshman year, I was invited by my then coach, Richard Opoku, to go play soccer, with 2 of my teammates, for 4 weeks in Ghana, Africa. It was an eye-opening experience that I will never forget. I was the only athlete invited back a second time. I spent the first semester of my Junior year, doing school online and playing for Foot Works Soccer Academy in Ghana. I was there for 4 months. I learned so much about my sport. I am getting ready to return in mid August to play for the academy, and will stay until the end of December. I can't wait to continue training at an intense level and grow my skills.
I recently went to my first ID Camp a couple weeks ago, and I had a lot of fun. At the end of the 3 days, the coaches chose the best 2 players for each position to form 2 teams. These team matched up in the Allstar Game, and I was chosen as one of the keepers. It was very humbling and exciting.
I am looking forward to hearing from you and learning more about your program and what it takes to be at the next level.
Thank you for your time,
Parker J. Sterkel
